The first "gift" that I recieved when I entered this world, was my name. My first name has Greek Roots, and means charisma, stemming from the Tropical Myrobolan tree. It is said to bare fragrant, plum-like, sweet smelling fruit, the oil of which can be used to manufacture perfume. The perfume is rumored to be an aphrodisiac. I share this name with a long dead Greek poet and sculptor (450 B.C.) You may not have realized this, but if you have been educated beyond eigth grade art history, you know who he is. Myron, was the creator of Discopolis, better known as The discus thrower.
My middle name, my "second" name, my inner name is Thomas. I share it with Thomas Aquinas, an unfortunately catholic philosopher, theologian, writer, Angelicus Doctor, and saint. I say unfortunately because Catholics, by the definition of thier religion, are sometimes closed minded as to the nature of the universe, and the powers that may exist within it. He was known to vehemently insisit that he spoke on a regular basis with his God,the Catholic God and his Angels for this, I give him credit of faith. I applaud his courage and the strength of his mind, though we disagree on many points. One point that we do agree on is the nature of chance, of synchronicity. I Qoute the following, from his best known work, Summa Theologica.
We must therefore say that what happens here by accident, both in natural things and in human affairs, is reduced to a preordaining cause, which is Divine Providence. For nothing hinders that which happens by accident being considered as one by an intellect: otherwise the intellect could not form this proposition: "The digger of a grave found a treasure." And just as an intellect can apprehend this so can it effect it; for instance, someone who knows a place where a treasure is hidden, might instigate a rustic, ignorant of this, to dig a grave there. Consequently, nothing hinders what happens here by accident, by luck or by chance, being reduced to some ordering cause which acts by the intellect, especially the Divine intellect. For God alone can change the will, as shown above (105, 4). Consequently the ordering of human actions, the principle of which is the will, must be ascribed to God alone.

My last name is a little more often used but has even less evident meaning, it's Weeks. It comes from the Welsh weekes and simply means an abode or hamlet. It was a common name in the Devon area of Wales. The main reason that this interests me is that Wales was one of the spawning areas for the celtic peoples...
So what does it mean? Technically nothing, it's just inane name trivia. If I were obsessive enough I could attempt to analyze them in a peculiar manner, but why would I want to do that ?
